Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Why do you have different products instead of just calendars?
Really Useful Calendars (RUC) was founded by Irene who is a mother, grandmother, Social Worker, Coordinator, friend, family member and a person interested in people's problems. Irene enjoys developing products that are unique to help people in ways that perhaps they have not thought about before. RUC is a niche provider of South Australian products and we love having the opportunity to be in that space. The possibilities are endless!
Do RUC Calendars have pictures for each month?
No, our Calendars are all about space for writing. That's what makes us different. We want the paper to be more writable than usual calendars, for each day to have heaps of space for writing, there should be room for notes and the text should be large and easy to read. That is how we help people create and store memories and important information.
Why is the Calendary so large?
Users need a lot of space to write all their important information into. Also, there is space for service users to sign in and out. Having the space to write in all of that will mean that you gather evidence, trends and specific information which you can rely on later if asked. It might be crucial for NDIS Plan reviews, NDIS Appeals or even fraud investigations. The more information that is collected, the more evidence you have. Even if you don't need it for those purposes, it will be part of your story and history, ready to be stored as a memory.
Aside from NDIS users, who else is it useful for?
It can be used for more than the NDIS. Might be really useful for anyone planning a wedding, renovating, undergoing medical treatment or for Grey Nomads. Anyone who wants to record information, not have it on public display and be able to share it is a potential user of the Calendary.
Are the RUC Calendars easy to write on?
Yes, we don't use the usual calendar shiny paper, we use paper without a coating to make it easier to write on. That is most likely the only feature that may change over time as we strive to get more writable paper each year that is affordable.
Is the Calendary suitable for people with poor vision?
Yes, the Calendary has large text and as it is easier for most people to read black and white lettering so we use that too. People with vision loss will love the space they have for writing as well as reading.
Why don't the RUC Calendars have public holidays and religious dates?
Our Calendars are created for all, regardless of culture, beliefs, age, or other factors. They are a blank canvas for special days. Users in Australia or abroad can add meaningful or important days themselves and know their Calendar is all about their life. Our Calendars are for everyone!
