Tip #22 Write Plan Dates
Share
Ever feel like the NDIS is a maze without a map? Let's fix that! Step one: actually write down when your plan starts and ends.
First Things First
Grab your NDIS paperwork and find your plan dates. Your NDIS plan will have them written somewhere, just scroll through and look for a start date and end date. Write these at the top of your "Important Contacts" page. It's like putting the "You Are Here" sticker on a shopping mall directory – suddenly everything makes more sense!
Late to the Party?
Already halfway through your plan? No worries! It's like joining a movie partway through – you might have missed some scenes, but you can still enjoy the rest. Writing down your dates helps you figure out how much "movie" you have left. Plus, you can enter past info if you like.
When Life Happens
Plans change faster than your favorite TV show gets canceled! When they do, take these quick steps:
- Write the end date in your calendar on the actual day it happens
- Add the new plan dates at the top of that page so that it stands out
- Jot down any conversations or meetings you had with the NDIS about the changes, especially why it changed (rollover, change of circumstances, etc)
Think of it as updating your GPS when you take a detour – you need to know both where you've been and where you're going now. Those meeting notes? They're your proof that someone actually told you to turn left at that confusing roundabout!
Why Bother?
These dates are your NDIS anchor. Without them, you're just drifting in a sea of paperwork and appointments. Plus, nothing says "I'm adulting today" quite like knowing when your funding actually ends.
Do It Now
Take 30 seconds, find those dates, write them down. Future you will be amazed at how clever past you was (if that makes sense).
Remember: You can't finish a race if you don't know where the finish line is!
