Tip #43 Regular Check-ups
Share
No, we're not talking about the doctor! We're talking about giving your NDIS plan a regular health check – because nobody wants any nasty surprises lurking in their funding.
Your NDIS Plan Check Up
Just like your car needs a service, your NDIS plan needs regular attention. Set aside time each month (or whatever works for you) to run your eye over the important bits:
- Goals: Are you working toward them? Do they still make sense?
- Funding: How much have you spent? What's left in each budget category?
- Service providers: Are they still the right fit? Any changes needed?
- Spending patterns: Everything looking legitimate and on track?
Think of yourself as a detective investigating your own plan – except way less dramatic and with better coffee.
Document Everything
Here's where your trusty Calendary earns its keep again. Write down when you do these check-ups and jot down your thoughts. Did something look odd? Note it. Everything running smoothly? Write that down too.
Your Future Self Will Thank You
These notes might seem unnecessary now, but if you ever face a NDIS debt notice or need to appeal a decision, you'll have a paper trail showing you were actively managing your plan. It's like insurance for your NDIS journey – boring but brilliant when you need it!
